Christmas Poem

The elves in the kitchen were full of cheer
Listen to that sound, "ding dong" from the reindeer.
"We've come to eat cookies, and candies, not hay!
Surely the farmer won't turn us away!"
The elves took to cooking and prepared a fine spread
Digging through the cupboards while the house was in bed.
The reindeer were pleased. They had never had eggnog.
(Though they'd read the recipe on Santa's web blog.)
